A U.S. Air Force HH-60W Jolly Green II assigned to the 33rd Rescue Squadron is parked on the flightline before its first flight at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Feb. 27, 2024. To better accommodate search and rescue operations in the Indo-Pacific theater, the U.S. Air Force is currently phasing out the HH-60G Pave Hawk in favor of the HH-60W that is equipped with an enhanced avionics package and superior equipment.
