Yokota-Con 2023

Hiroshi Shimizu, an artist who worked as a key animator for Studio Ghibli, draws live at Yokota-Con, March 4, 2023, at the Taiyo Community Center on Yokota Air Base, Japan. This year, Yokota-Con showcased in-country talent with live performances from dance and vocal group MADKID and rock singer NANO. The event also featured award-winning actress Mayumi Tanaka, who voices the protagonist Monkey D. Luffy in the global phenomenon “One Piece.” Yokota-Con was hosted by the 374th Force Support Squadron in an effort to bring the community together in a celebration of artwork, talent, and creativity.
