Airborne 23: where US airlift meets Japan tactical insertion

Containerized Delivery System (CDS) await their drop from a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules, assigned to the 36th Airlift Squadron, during the Airborne 23 training maneuver above the East Fuji Maneuver Area, Japan, Feb. 2, 2023. Nine C-130J aircraft assigned to Yokota and Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, participated in the Airborne 23 training maneuver by airlifting 100 cargo bundles to predetermined drop zones for JGSDF ground operations training. The bundles carried simulated cargo which would commonly consist of fuel, water, food, and different types of ammunition, designed to directly support JGSDF operations in real-world situations.
