Oceania Mission

Cmdr. (Dr.) Amy O'Boyle, an Obstetrics/Gynecological Surgeon, and Lt. Jennifer Ftiscar, an OB/GYN resident – both from Naval Medical Center Portmouth, Va., perform surgery on a local woman at Espiritu Santo hospital in Vanuatu. They were part of an Obstetrics/Gynecological surgical team which visited Espiritu Santo island in the nation of Vanuatu to train medical staff and perform surgery. The team was part of the Oceania Humanitarian Assistance Mission that brought medical, dental and engineering personnel to perform civil assistance projects on Vanuatu, Nauru and Kiribati July 20-30, 2007.
