A Musashi Murayama taiko troupe plays to a crowd of Deedara Festival attendees at Musashi Murayama City, Japan, Nov 12, 2022. The troupe, or “kumi-daiko,” plays large drums made out of barrels or tree trunks with cowhide covers. The musicians beat the drums in unison to produce loud, reverberating beats that were historically used in battle and religious practices. YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan --

Yokota leadership attended Deedara Festival at Musashimurayama City to demonstrate the 374th AW commitment to enhancing the relationship between Yokota Air Base and the local communities. This was the first time the city hosted the festival since 2019. The festival aims to promote mutual exchanges, create connections, and unite its citizens. It is held with the goal of revitalizing the area with the traditions and culture of the region.
